Here at Reading City Football Club safeguarding comes first, so whilst we ‘Play Safe’ every weekend. We are proud to be supporting this national initiative which sees English Football unite across one weekend, every season to highlight the importance of safeguarding.
City Youngster Shaves Head In support of Best Friend
We want you to tell you the story of Archie who plays for our Under 10s as on Saturday he shaved his head in support of his best friend at school who was sadly recently diagnosed with a rare bone cancer.
A Brilliant Start
Whilst not all our youth teams started their campaigns this weekend, the majority of those who did opened their campaigns with a brilliant performance making it a successful weekend for our Youth Academy.
Under 12s to compete in high standard Tournament
Tomorrow our Under 12s will compete in the high-standard Berkshire Fives tournament which is organised by Ascot United Football Club as they continue to prepare for their new youth campaign to get underway.
Riley becomes a Robin
Reading City Football Club is proud to reveal that Riley who is a member of our Under 9s who plays for the Cityzens on both a Saturday and Sunday has today signed for Sky Bet League Two Outfit Swindon Town’s Academy.

You may remember that a few weeks ago we told you that we were proud to be participating in the prestigious Royal Pre-Season Cup for a second consecutive year at the world-renowned Bradfield College tomorrow, Saturday 12th August. The tournament is a 11 side International Tournament which will see teams from the USA and Scandinavia face English based teams like Reading City Football Club and we can now reveal that our Under 14s could face a professional academy side, representing Premier League outfit Fulham.

Purser-Wood earns Outstanding Service Award
To celebrate our Under 16s Athletic ending their journey through our Youth Setup, they held their own end of season fun day at the Rivermoor yesterday evening where Jack Purser-Wood was awarded an Outstanding Service Award.
