Cityzens could face a Royal Rumble with Premier League Opposition.

You may remember that a few weeks ago we told you that we were proud to be participating in the prestigious Royal Pre-Season Cup for a second consecutive year at the world-renowned Bradfield College tomorrow, Saturday 12th August.

The tournament is a 11 side International Tournament which will see teams from the USA and Scandinavia face English based teams like Reading City Football Club and we can now reveal that our Under 14s could face a professional academy side, representing Premier League outfit Fulham.

Our Under 14s have been seeded in Group B and will face opponents from South Carolina based Surf Select and Reading’s Procision Academy.

Meanwhile, Group A sees teams from National League outfit Aldershot Town, Premier League outfit Fulham and Newbury’s Procision Academy face each other.

Following the group stages, the winner of Group B will face the Winner of Group A in the final. Whilst the sides that finish second in their respective group will face each other in the third-place play-off and the sides that finish third in their respective group will face each other in in the consolation play off.

Our Under 18s are also competing in the tournament and are playing a year up in the Under 19s Category and just like our Under 14s will also face opposition from National League outfit Aldershot Town, Reading-based International Development Academy and New Jersey based, Jersey Knights.

Chairman, Martin Law had this to say:

“This is a fantastic event for our Under 14s as well as our Under 18s who finished their journey through our youth academy earlier this season. Throughout the club we promote a positive environment that is safe, fun and inclusive both on and off the pitch where we will embrace failure and not drill a must-win ethos into our players, so I want our youngsters along with our coaches/managers and of course our parents/guardians to enjoy the occasion tomorrow as it’s the memories that will last a lifetime. On behalf of everyone at the club I would like to wish our Under 14s and Under 18s the very best of luck”
