A Brilliant Start

Whilst not all our youth teams started their campaigns this weekend, the majority of those who did opened their campaigns with a brilliant performance making it a successful weekend for our Youth Academy.

Our Under 10s faced Procision Reading’s U10 Predators in their opening day fixture on Saturday in the East Berkshire Football Alliance. It was great to see our youngsters having so much fun and scoring some cracking goals out on the pitch and enjoying themselves. They came away with a good result on the opening day.

Our U10 Royals played their first Sunday game in the Peter Houseman Youth League and they had lots of fun in an impressive performance from our youngsters with some great goals throughout the game.

Our Under 11s played their first game in the East Berkshire Football Alliance against Shinfield Rangers Under 11 Royals this weekend and will be happy with their start to the season

Our Under 12s United played Caversham AFC U12 Cobras and won 3-0 in their opening East Berkshire Football Alliance fixture.

Our Under 12s played Bracknell Athletic’s Under 12s Royals and won 5-0 in their opening East Berkshire Football Alliance fixture. Manager Simon Eade had this to say: “Great start to the season for my boys Super proud of all of them”.

Our Under 12 Royals lost 0-2 to Radley Youth in their opening fixture in the Oxfordshire Youth Football League this morning.

Our Under 14s United suffered a 5-1 loss to Centre Skills U14 Diamond in their opening East Berkshire Football Alliance fixture yesterday. Manager Glenn Beard had this to say: “A very frustrating day in the boiling heat as we managed to lose despite outplaying Centre Skills, but just couldn’t handle the long ball over the top”.

Our Under 16 Royals suffered a narrow opening day defeat to Rotherfield United U16 Raptors in the East Berkshire Football Alliance yesterday, final score was 3-2. Manager Paul Bellanti told us “Playing in over 30 degrees was a killer for the boys and a few sloppy mistakes gave the game away”.

Our Under 16 Athletic side got their East Berkshire Football Leaue campaign underway with a 3-1 win against Windlesham United Youth U16 Jets
