Facts & Stats

Our Reading City/JMA Reading Under 18s side will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of our other Under 18s team who won 1-2 at The Mettal Stadium during their pre-season campaign when they take on the Kingfishers this evening.

Managers Thoughts

“We are really looking forward to heading over to Thatcham tonight as it is a club, we have a good connection with and there are many familiar faces both in the youth team and senior sides. Notably two former Reading City FA Youth Cup captains Nathan Jones and Sam Tanner are both in the first team.

We have come through the last two rounds relatively comfortably and with them coming into this off the back of a penalty shootout, we know their confidence will be high and with it also being a local derby, we cannot expect to get away with being anything but our best.

Both sides also know that a win puts you 1 game away from the first round proper and a chance to face a professional outfit.

It’s going to be an entertaining tie and we hope we can have a number of family, friends, ex-players and City supporters come along to back the boys!”.
