Butcher's pre-match thoughts

Ahead of tonight’s FA Youth Cup First Round Qualifying clash against Brackley Town here at the Rivermoor in collaboration with our Club Partner, John Madejski Academy we caught up with our FA Youth Cup Squad’s Gaffer Michael Butcher who is also our First Team Assistant Manager.

The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to It’s been a big week at the club. With the first teams historic FA Cup run finally coming to an end on Tuesday night, the U18’s winning their first 3 points this season and tonight’s game against Brackley here at the Rivermoor.

It was great to see Bobbi (Emery) feature in both first team squads on Saturday and Tuesday after his performance in the last round of the FAYC as well. I am sure he won’t be the only one Simmy (Simon Johnson) involves this season either.

Brackley are a somewhat unknown entity but as a national league club we know tonight is going to be a much more difficult test to the last round and we will need to be ready for whatever they bring.

The changing room was bouncing last time out and the lads will be aiming for a repeat of that to keep us in the hat for the next round.

Finally, it was amazing to see so many families, friends and ex-players supporting the lads 2 weeks ago and we hope they all brave the elements to support the boys again tonight! reach your full potential—these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.
