Reading City Football Club can confirm the departure of forward, Yashwa Romeo.

Reading City Football Club would like to wish Yashwa Romeo all the best for the future as he hangs up his boots and departs the Rivermoor having made nine appearances for the club, to take up the role of Assistant Manager at BetVictor Isthmian League side Northwood FC, joining his former Thatcham Town team mate Jamie Leacock who was recently announced as Northwood's new manager in the dugout.

Experienced forward Yashwa Romeo was Simon Johnson and Sam Woodruff's first summer signing ahead of our 2019/20 Hellenic League Premier Division Campaign after deciding to return to playing as he felt that he still had a season left in him, having spent last season at Marlow United where he served as Assistant Manager.

Yashwa has a distinguished footballing career playing for Abingdon United, Hungerford Town, Oxford City, Thatcham Town, Burnham, Slough, Marlow, Maidenhead United and Windsor.

We spoke to First Team Manager Simon Johnson about the departure of Yashwa Romeo and here's what he had to say:

"Yash has departed the club to take on a management role. I would like to thank Yash for everything he did for us this season. His experience proved very helpful and was a great character. All the best Yash".
