Rivermoor to feature on Soccer Saturday

We're thrilled that our home and the hub of the community, the Rivermoor will feature on Soccer Saturday.

On Wednesday evening Woodley United, who we have a ground-sharing agreement with, will take on promotion-chasing Holyport in an all-Berkshire Hellenic League Division One East Clash here at the Rivermoor and the TV Camera's will be present as weekly sports show Soccer Saturday will be in attendance. Unbelievable Jeff!

You may or may not be aware that Woodley United have a high-profile name amongst their ranks, this is none other than Gareth Ainsworth, manager of Skybet League One outfit Wycombe Wanderers and we're reliably informed that Gareth will be playing in this fixture. We also understand that Gareth Ainsworth had something to do with getting Soccer Saturday to show up, as they say, class is permanent.

Come along and support our friends at Woodley United in what will be an entertaining game, you may even end up on TV. Woodley will be looking to stop promotion chasers Holyport in their tracks as they are focused on their survival in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East where they currently sit in fifteenth place.

Admission for Wednesday nights game is as follows:

Adults & 16 years plus £5.00(includes programme) WUFC members, Family members of WUFC 1st team players, OAPs and Concessions £3.00(includes programme) 5 - 15-year-olds £1.00 Under 5 Free

Season Ticket Holders of Wycombe Wanders who want to come and see their manager and club legend Gareth Ainsworth play will receive half-price admission. Just show a valid Wycombe Wanderers season ticket in order to redeem Woodley's half price entry offer.

Our Clubhouse (The Crossbar) has recently been refurbished and offers hot food and drink at a reasonable cost.

We will open the Rivermoor's gates at 6 pm on Wednesday evening and you'll be able to enjoy hot food and drink in the comfort and warmth of The Crossbar, which has recently been refurbished. Food and drinks are reasonably priced, we have a fully licensed bar and contactless payment is accepted.

The Rivermoor, the hub of the community.

Reading City Football Club's Media and Public Relations Manager, Ryan Sheehan, whose responsibility also covers the Rivermoor's social media platforms had this to say:

"Whilst it's important to note that Soccer Saturday are coming down to the Rivermoor to do a feature on Woodley United and as much as we don't want to steal the limelight from them, we can't help but be excited about our home and the hub of the local community being shown to those watching Soccer Saturday across the UK and Republic of Ireland. We look forward to seeing what opportunities come about for Woodley United and the Rivermoor as a result. Hopefully we'll get a good crowd in on Wednesday evening for this very special fixture".
