Perfect start to pre-season for the Cityzens

Match Review by James Earnshaw who watched over proceedings on a sunny afternoon in West Reading.
After several months without football, the Cityzens returned to action yesterday kicking off their pre-season schedule against Camberley Town.
Reading City have started pre-season on a winning note, beating Camberley Town 2-0 at Rivers.
Goals from trialist Brad Farren and Assistant Manager Michael Butcher sealed the win for Simon Johnson's Cityzens.
Considering the baking heat, both sides put in good performances but the home side managed to take two of their many chances.
Trialist Farren tucked the ball away early in a close first half, but Butcher's unstoppable free-kick was no doubt the moment of the match.
The competitive nature continued into the second half but City certainly deserved the win.
Although the second half was scoreless, the ball was in the back of the Krooners' net, only for the header to be ruled offside.
Ultimately the result was a fair one, and now attention must turn to Thursday for a match-up with Oxford City U23s.
