Ahead of kick-off yesterday we announced the signing of Striker Max Laschok, who joins us from Woodley United. Max went straight into the starting line-up and earned himself a brace giving him the perfect start as a Cityzen.
After impressing Simon Johnson in last week's Rivermoor Derby where the Cityzens faced Woodley United. Max was invited to sign for Reading City Football Club and we are delighted to welcome him to the club.
Our thanks go to Woodley United Manager Jamie Williams and of course, Woodley United Football Club for allowing Max to move to a higher level and getting the transfer concluded so quickly.
Max travelled to Wiltshire with his new teammates yesterday and went straight into the starting line up against Royal Wootton Bassett Town and quickly opened his account for the Cityzens with a goal in the twelve-minute, before earning himself a brace in the fifty-ninth minute, he almost found himself a hat-trick in the ninetieth minute.
Following his fantastic debut performance, he was voted man of the match by his teammates, management team and club officials.
We spoke to First Team Manager Simon Johnson about the arrival of Max Laschok and here's what he had to say:
"We saw something special in max last week. Not many players have done what he did to our back 4. It made sense to try and bring him in. He’s a lad looking to kick on so thank you to Jamie and all at Woodley United for seeing that and allowing him to move up. A great debut today and definitely more to come from this lad! Welcome Max."
