Media Guru's challenge for Samaritans
Reading City Football Club's media manager Ryan Sheehan is completing a challenge throughout March to walk 310,000 steps for Samaritans to raise money to help fund the charity's lifesaving work.
The effects of lockdown have had a huge impact on people's mental health, that's why Ryan has decided to complete the challenge of walking 310,000 steps in March in support of the Samaritans. 310,000 steps are the equivalent of 147 miles, and he has 31 days to complete it.
Many of you know will know that Ryan's already very busy by splitting his time between his full-time job and managing our clubs' social media feeds, but somehow he's found time to support the Samaritan's too, so let's get behind him as he enters the last twelve days of his challenge.
Ryan has already raised £95 and his target is £200, so please donate what you can via his official JustGiving page.
£5 is all Samaritans need to answer a call from someone struggling to cope.
For every £1 donated to Samaritans and its branches in the UK and Ireland, 82p goes on their services, and just 18p is invested in raising the next £1.
