Reading City Football Club have reached the First Round Proper of the Buildbase FA Vase for the very first time, the last time that the club reached this stage of the competition was in the 2016/17 Season when we were known as Highmoor Ibis.
The draw has been made for the First Round Proper of the Buildbase FA Vase and Reading City have been drawn against Southern Combination Premier Division outfit Lancing Football Club who will make the journey from West Sussex to Berkshire for this cup tie, scheduled for Saturday 31st October 2020. Kick Off 15:00pm.
This will be a very tough game for Simon Johnson’s Cityzens as Lancing will be looking to build on last season’s FA Vase success where they reached the third round of the competition, just like the Cityzens they are enjoying a promising start to the season having won 4 out of their first seven fixtures.
Travelling Lancers fans may recognise a familiar name on the City team sheet as former Lancing FC Goalkeeper turned Striker Tyler D’Cruz leads the city attack and scored a hat-trick in Saturday’s Second Round Qualifying clash against Woodley United to set up this tie with his former side.
Simon Johnson will be looking to make history however and see the club progress to the Second Proper for the first time ever.
