City U23s have virtual awards presentation to bring superb season to a close.

Updated: May 19

Our Under 23s had a fantastic season in the Thames Valley Premier League and were in a title race prior to the season being cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic so it was only right that we still celebrated the team's success with a virtual end of season presentation.

The first award up for grabs was the Managers Player Award, Deano Jones who manages our City U23s awarded this to Nathan Mindomba. Nathan also earned this award last season. Marco De Sousa was the runner up for managers award having had an impressive season not only for the Under 23s but also for the first team and in third place for the Managers Player award was Tyron Bah.

The next award was for top goalscorer, this award went to Kris Tuffour who scored a total of 6 goals in 18 appearances. In second place for top goalscorer were Tyrese Weeks (4 Goals, 12 Appearances), last season’s top goal scorer Jude Van Spall (4 goals, 12 appearances), Jehmeil McNeil (4 Goals 13 Appearances) and Shane Gibson (4 Goals, 6 Appearances).

We’d also like to congratulate Harry Peters who scored 3 goals in 14 Appearances, Marco De Sousa who scored two goals in 16 appearances, Mo Kabba who scored 2 goals in 9 appearances, Jas Le Paih who scored 2 goals in 12 appearances, Bob Touray who scored 2 goals in 15 appearances, Nathan Jones who scored one goal in 9 appearances and Denis Haxhiu who scored 1 goal in 18 appearances.

And on a lighter note, Deano Jones also handed out awards for the longest hair and beard as no one is unable to get to the barbers at the moment due to the government-imposed lockdown in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The award for longest hair and beard went to Jas Le Paih, whilst in second place was Harry Peters.

There were also awards for best “Fro” which went to Nathan Mindomba, in second place was Shane Gibson.

Thank you to Deano Jones, Gary Lambourne and Darren Seal along with the players from our Under 23s for their fantastic performance this season.
