Matchday at the Rivermoor

Whether you have been attending since the days of Highmoor Ibis, or whether you’re heading here for the very first time, you can expect a fantastic day at the Rivermoor. On a matchday, when we open our doors to our supporters, the atmosphere ramps up and it becomes an exciting place to be.

Every game at The Rivermoor is a little bit different. That's why it is always worth visiting the Match Preview section a couple of days before the match to see the latest info about our upcoming game.

Getting here

Situated in the heart of West Reading and a short journey from the City Centre, the Rivermoor is ideally located for supporters on matchdays.

As a result, visiting us is extremely simple as our home has excellent links to all transport networks and there's on-site parking at the ground.

For full information about getting to the Rivermoor, visit our Travel & Parking page.

Getting your tickets

You can either pay on arrival at the Rivermoor, cash and contactless payments are accepted at the turnstiles. However we recommend that you buy an e-ticket via our official e-ticketing system powered by Eventbrite so you don’t miss out, it also ensures a quicker entry into the ground meaning there’s no waiting around so you don’t miss that all-important pre-match drink or bite to eat.

If you are a Reading Football Club Season Ticket you do not need to worry about purchasing a ticket, just bring a valid season ticket with you and you will receive free admission to Reading City home games.

Please check our match previews for further offers on free entry as we often invite members of our armed forces and emergency services to games for free of charge too.

Admission to the Rivermoor for Reading City games is £6 Adults, £3 Concessions and Under 16s go free.

Programme

Reading City Football Club no longer print match day programmes, instead we publish an e-programme for each first-team fixture. These can be downloaded here, we’ll also share on social media and in our match preview ahead of the game.

Food and Drink

Our Clubhouse has a fully licensed bar known as “The Crossbar” which stocks a wide range of alcoholic beverages. We also offer hot and cold drinks along with hot and cold food, all of which is reasonably priced and available to order from “The Crossbar”. Our price list/menu can be viewed here.

Opening Times

The Rivermoor is staffed by a team of volunteers so therefore only opens if the club has a match and/or event taking place. During the season Reading City will play their home games on Saturdays kicking off at 3pm and on weeknights kicking off at 19:45.

For a 15:00 Kick Off, the Rivermoor will open at 13:00*

For a 19:45 Kick Off, the Rivermoor will open at 18:00*

*Please note these times are subject to change dependant on the availability of volunteers, so we ask that supporters check social media and our match preview for the latest information.

Lawsey The Lion

He's big, friendly, and loves high fives.

Meet Lawsey the Lion, the Cityzens mascot

Lawsey will be out on the prowl around the stadium before the game, hunting down opportunities to give out high fives, fist bumps and star in your selfies.

He won't bite - make sure you say hello!
